Celebration was in the air at Le Bal Rouge 2024! The MUHC Foundation’s signature gala raised a stunning $2,050,000 to support the Cancer Research Program at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC). It was a night of Mediterranean fare and flair to honour the exceptional contributions of the renowned cancer researcher and program leader, Dr. Peter Metrakos.
Held at the historic Windsor Station, this upscale event showcased classic Mediterranean flair, with guests enjoying a cocktail reception with traditional Greek “mezzes” and champagne, followed by a sumptuous four-course meal by celebrated chef Armando Arruda. The dining hall transformed into an enchanting Tuscan-style garden party, complete with citrus trees and fresh floral decor.
It was a beautiful evening that united dedicated philanthropists, changemakers, and innovators under a common goal: to end cancer as a deadly disease.
Under the leadership of Dr. Peter Metrakos, the RI-MUHC’s Cancer Research Program has become one of the largest adult cancer research groups in Quebec, pioneering new methods of cancer detection and treatment. This year's proceeds will support groundbreaking efforts in cancer research that will ensure all Quebecers will have access to the promise of personalized cancer care: the best treatment at the optimal time for each patient.
